Excursions

Three trips worth making from the hotel. Ask at reception and we will help you plan any of them, and sort out a car if you need one.

Monasteries on the rock pillars of Meteora, half hidden in mist

The mountain,the city, the rocks

Where to go

The coast at Olympiaki Akti, with Mount Olympus rising inland behind the town
12 km away

Mount Olympus

The mountain of the gods starts twelve kilometres inland from the beach. There is a Jockey Club and an Alpine Club up there for anyone who would rather see Olympus on foot or on horseback than through a car window.

A monastery on top of a rock pillar at Meteora, half hidden in mist
188 km away

Meteora

Six monasteries built on top of sandstone pillars, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most important monastic community in Greece after Mount Athos. Around two hours each way, so it is worth leaving early.

Ask us about it

All three are day trips. Meteora is the long one at roughly two hours each way, so leave early and take something for the road.

Parking at the hotel is free, so the car can sit there all week until you want it. If you would rather not drive up Olympus, there is a Jockey Club and an Alpine Club towards the mountain, both set up for visitors on foot and on horseback.
